17 miles in 3hrs 25 min

Yesterday I was the water/ice girl for all my running buddies. Makenzie was the cheerleader and clapped for them the whole way. We then had a fabulous breakfast. Jason was on call and had a crazy busy day. We are so proud of him but miss him like crazy. Today, makenzie followed him around because she had missed him so much.

While the napped, I hopped on the treadmill to get my mileage (It is way too hot to run outside). I completed 17 miles in 3 hrs and 25 minutes. Not too shabby:) It was awesome because all my running peeps were texting the entire time with words of encouragement. Then my hubby took care of me and fixed me a nice ice bath! These 30 yr old legs are still mobile so that is good!

This will be one a shirt for Makenzie when I complete the marathon in October!! I love it:) Don't you?

J.A.R.

Just another run. Today I tried my best to get away from work and get on the treadmill during lunch but no luck. Towards the end of the day a running buddy text says she needed to clear her head so I committed to an afternoon/night run. Makenzie was feed and placed in the jogging stroller. I was not feeling it in the heat of 91 degrees but we did it. 3.2 miles and sleeping baby at the end. Time was not too bad either considering the heat. Afterwards we both had a clear head and I believe I am ready to face Tuesday:) Most may not think that is much of an accomplishment but Jason is on call tonight so that means he left at 4am and we do not see him until Tuesday at 5:30 pm. With a 16 month old toddler who is not walking but running everywhere it is a challenge to work 9 hours, feed dinner, walk the dog, run 3.2 miles, bath time, brush teeth, bedtime, then mommy eats dinner and blogs about completing. Ha! Now time for bed because I am one tired mommy.

My new addiction

Of all the things to become addicted to, I choose running. Could have picked something better I am sure but I am all in now. I have done a 5k, 3 different 10ks, and a half marathon so far. All these and a few more in the future to build up to the Run for Life marathon in October. That is 26.2 miles of running. Fast runners take 4 hours to run a marathon so I will be spending half the day running in October to finish. No matter how long it takes I will be finishing. The time limit is 8 hours so I will be done by then. My running buddies and I joke because of what we do for a sticker, t-shirt and a medal. I will be blogging about my runs for sure over the next few weeks. This past saturday we set out for an 8 mile run. I was mentally prepared for sure and talked by friend, Mitzi, into trusting me and going a little further. We completed our 9.5 miles run in 1hr 45 min and 10 sec. That is fast at least for us. I would even say that is Real fast:) I felt great even though that is what we call a short run. This coming Saturday is a 17 mile run. That is what we call a long run. I am still trying to wrap my mind around that number but I still have a few days. Happy Running:)

Long time no Blog

I have been such a terrible blogger lately. I am going to attempt to blog at least once a week. Jason's school is getting crazier for sure. He has started taking call so we are seeing less of him and he is definitely sleeping less. I am working full time and being full time mommy. Makenzie is the sweetest and smartest baby girl ever. We are blessed beyond measure and we are so grateful!
