Karaoke at the Pelican Cove

Friday night Jason and I went to here our frien Lauren compete in a Karaoke contest at Pelican Cove. She was fabulous and qualified for the finals on Feburary 27th. We can't wait to be there again and cheer her on. Her husband Bryan also sang us a song. He was great entertainment, but Lauren is the singer in that family:)

Taxes

So I am so not looking forward to Tax season this year. I am hoping that Jason and I get lots of money back, but I am not sure what all I was supposed to be saving in 2008 since we bought a house and can now itemize. I guess I will soon find out from my accountant, my sister Natalie, and will do better next year!!

Shannon Jex

So I just found out that one of my Phi Mu sisters is an amazing artist. She has her own website, http://www.shannonjex.com/ , so please check it out. There are mulitple stories on her blog of people in her life and she has sat down and drawn a portrait of them. They are fantasic. Great additions for a home.

Sewing.. my new hobby

Well, as if I already can't keep up with my blogging, housework, and all the other duties I have. I decided to take up another hobby. SEWING!! Yes, you read it right. I am learning how to sew. My goal is to learn to sew little jumpers and john johns. My sister has one little girl and another one on the way. I have to get started before they are too big for me to make them anything. I recently bought a JANOME 9700. This is a sewing and monogramming machine. I have done nothing but play with it since I got it. I still have to get the different color threads and fabics but I have played with scraps they gave me. I am taking about 10 classes over the next few months from Continental Sewing. I will post some of my finised products. I also will be able to monogram all my clothes I make. I can also monogram towels, blankets, purses, shirt, and anything else that the hoops fits over. I cannot wait to learn more!! More posts and pics to come!

Congratulations Mallory and Dewey!

My best friend's little sister, who I absolutely love, got married in December. I have been a little behind on blogging so I am just now getting around to congratulating the happy couple. Jason and I are both so excited for you!! Love you sweet Mallory!!

iphone and the zagg cover!!

Jason and I both got iphones for Christmas. They are great and we have so much fun playing on them ALL day EVERY day!! These fabulous toys also come with a price so we wanted something to protect them. Jason heard about the Zagg cover. It is supposed to protect the phone from everything even hard hits on the ground. We ordered 2 and we are just waiting for them to come in. I will let you know if they are unbreakable. Jason will definitely give it a good test I know. He is not very gentle on cell phones:)

Friends Christmas Party!

Back in December all my good friends from college got together and exchanged Christmas gifts. This year we planned on going to dinner at Alexanders, but plans had to change at the last minute. We went to Mint instead. the food was great and the company was even better!! It was great to see all my girls!! Love you all! (Sorry the picture is a little blurry)

Congratulations Sara and James

I spoke in an earlier blog about Jason's sister, Sara, getting married. Sara and James were married on December 27, 2008. We had a great time in Gatlinburg, TN with the happy couple. Congratulations to you both. Jason and I love you very much!!

The Dark Knight

Jason and I rarely ever settled down long enough to watch a movie. This past weekend I cooked parmesan chicken, corn, fried okra, and dinner rolls! We ate and watched the Dark Knight. I was not as excited as Jason was about the movie, but it turned out to be a very good movie.

Some my best friends Andy and Makena got engaged!! YEAH!! They are planning on getting married August 1, 2009. Only 3 days before Jason and my 2nd year anniversary. Congratulations to you both! Jason and I are thrilled!!

Thursday morning I got a phone call from a college friend of mine telling me that a mutal friend had passed away. This friend was Paul Bowles. Please pray for his family and all who are mourning his loss at this time.

Monster Trucks

Tonight Jason and I went to see the MONSTER trucks with Christina and Richie! We also took one of my neighbors child Nathan!! It was so much fun!!! Christina, Nathan, and I even rode around in one of the Monster Trucks!! SCARY, but FUN!!!!Jason and I look forward to having many more double dates with the Millers!!!
