Cooking

So I have decided to cook more for my fabulous husband. So today we slept in and I made a big breakfast. We then cleaned the house and my husband did lots of yard work. Late afternoon, we went to church and then to the grocery store. On the way to the grocery store, my wonderful mom gave us her recipe for the heath bar cake. I already had a chicken recipe to try. It was chicken breast with crushed cheese nips. Both recipes were so easy and so good. I think Jason is starting to get spoiled:)Here are the recipes in case anyone wants to try them. I can do them so I know you can!

CHEESY BAKED CHICKEN

1 whole chicken, cut up or 8 pieces
1/3 c. oil
1 sm. box cheese nips crackers (7-8 oz. size)
1 1/2 tsp. garlic salt or 1 tsp. garlic powder
Black pepper to taste

Crush the cheese nips to fine crumbs. Place chicken pieces into a bowl and add oil, coating each piece. Add garlic salt or powder and black pepper to cracker crumbs; stir. Take chicken out 1 piece at a time and roll in cracker crumbs. Place onto ungreased cookie sheet and bake for 1 hour at 350 degrees. Turn the chicken over after 30 minutes. Serves 4.

HEATH BAR CAKE

1 German chocolate cake mix
1 squeezable caramel topping
1 can sweetened condensed milk
1 container Cool Whip
2-3 crushed Heath bars

Bake cake as directed in 13"x9" pan. While hot, poke holes throughout cake with end of wooden spoon. Pour caramel into holes, then condensed milk into holes. Let cool. Top with Cool Whip and crushed Heath bars.
